This weekend in weddings: Marchesa co-designer Georgina Chapman weds movie mogul Harvey Weinstein. While Harvey gained a stunningly gorgeous and successful dress designer 24 years his junior, Georgina committed to the classic upgrade/downgrade of a fabulously rich husband who’s also kind of a schlub. We’re romanced ourselves with tales of the spectacle, a Westport, Connecticut affair that drew the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Anna Wintour, Paul McCartney, Nicole Kidman, and Cameron Diaz, and starred Georgina in an undoubtedly fabulous ivory tulle wedding gown of her own design (Harvey tuxed out in Tom Ford – we approve). We wish this couple a fabulous life that’s a much more interesting match than the aesthetically similar Leah Remini/Kevin James pairing on The King of Queens, and while we’re in no rush to marry a well-financed fixer-upper of our own, we certainly might pass a moment or two daydreaming about bridesmaids bedecked this raspberry-red Marchesa Notte confection.
Looking at Harvey, however, we can’t help but wonder: would you do it?
