Jeanne Lanvin
Pronunciation: zhan lan-vinh
The perfect bag for shopping, working, dating, existing.
Whether you’re a fan of classic Lanvin perfume Arpege, you’ve only heard the name in passing, or you’re a new convert to the label since Alber Elbaz stepped in, it can’t be denied that the 100+ year old brand is experiencing a resurgence. The label has been known for its classic femininity ever since creator Jeanne Lanvin opened up a millinery shop on the rue de Faubourg Saint-Honore in 1889, transitioning to become a dressmaker and member of the vaunted Syndicat de la Couture by 1907. Her daughter took the reigns upon her death, and the label became better known for its perfumes until Elbaz took over in 2001, designing a collection that turned all eyes back on Lanvin.
The refined sophistication of the house can be found in their flawless collection of shoes, handbags, and jewelry, including the buttery taupe leather Kentucky Tote seen above. If you’re lacking a local Lanvin retailer, visit Yoox for great bargains like this gorgeous white coat. (Alright, “bargain” might be stretching it, but isn’t it pretty?)
